Our system compares your selected priorities with our extensive country database, rating each country across 20 key factors. You'll see the best matches at the top of the generated list.
We limit your selection to ten priorities to provide more focused and meaningful results. This approach helps highlight countries that stand out in the areas that matter most to you, rather than those that are just average across a broad range of factors.
You can choose between four and ten priorities. Selecting fewer than four might make countries rank too similarly, which could make it hard to tell them apart. Picking too many priorities, though, can lead to results that reflect extreme filtering, a loss of flexibility, and reduced differentiation. To keep things balanced, we've set a maximum of ten priorities. This way, you'll get meaningful and well-rounded rankings without redundancy. While there's no strict minimum, we recommend choosing at least four priorities to get the best, most personalized results.
The customized list ranks countries based on how closely they align with your priorities. Start by comparing the top-ranked countries against your selected priorities. Next, review how they perform in the areas you didn't prioritize. This helps to reduce your list of potential countries and speed up your research process.
Each country features detailed information about your selected considerations. Hover over a country's row in the table to view details for each priority, including a link to additional information. To view all of a country's details at once, click the chevron (the small, blue arrow) next to the country's name to expand or collapse the details section for that country. At the bottom of the details section, you'll find a list of general-purpose links for further exploration.
Each consideration is rated on a scale of 1-10, where 10 represents the best possible score. Ratings are based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors within each category. For clarity, ratings are color-coded with the following scheme:
10-7: DARK GREEN to GREEN
6-3: ORANGE to PINK
2-1: RED
The Fit scores are three methods of weighing the relative importance of each country. The first number sorts the best country matches to the top of the list. The second and third numbers allow you to compare the value of your selected preferences against the country's total ratings.
Example: 1 (63|145)
The first number 1 in this column sorts the column by the best country match - or "fit" - for your selected priorities. The first number in parenthesis 63 is the Fit score: the sum of the ratings values of each of your preferences for the given country. The second number in the parenthesis 145 is the Total score: the sum of all ratings for the given country, including your preferences.
